VVS Laxman Retires From International Cricket

VVS Laxman has finally announced his retirement from International Cricket & with this an era has come to an end.He announced his retirement at Rajeev Gandhi Stadium,Hyderabad.The decision came as a shock for many as it was just taken before the start of Test Series against New Zealand & everyone expexted him to play in it as he was also selected by the selectors.



VVS Laxman said that it was a very emotional desicion to take.He was accompanied by his parents,wife & children at the Press Conference.
In his statement he said thanks to everyone who supported him in his career.He also said that he is blessed that he got an opportunity to play for the country.

He made his debut against South Africa in 1996 & palyed a total of 134 Tests for India in which he scored 8,781 runs with an average of 45.97 & 17 Centuries.He is well remembered for his knock of 281 against Australia at Eden Gardens,Kolkata in 2001.He scored 6 Test centuries against Australia.
